THE SEARCH PROCESS - STEP-BY-STEP At TSS Consulting, Inc., unlike the large search firms, each assignment is personally conducted by a partner of the firm. We approach all assignments with a professional enthusiasm and expertise that ensures both clients and candidates are comfortable with the search processSTEP 1- CONSULTATION & STRATEGY Before undertaking an assignment, we consult closely with key decision makers within the client organization to discuss the position to be filled and to determine the required experience, qualifications and characteristics of the ideal candidate. At the same time, we gain a detailed understanding of our client's organization and the corporate culture in which the successful candidate will function. The project and candidate qualifications are then confirmed in writing with the client. Since no two searches are alike, we devise a specific search strategy to identify top-quality candidates. STEP 2 - RESEARCH & IDENTIFICATION When all parties agree on the position description, we initiate an intensive search using our firm's proprietary database, industry resources and information networks. Using these resources, we identify the outstanding individuals who demonstrate genuine interest and possess the required background and interpersonal skills essential to making a long-term contribution to our client's organization. Engineers with the qualities and relevant experience required are typically not actively seeking a new position. TSS's recruiting expertise creates the opportunity for the client and ideal individual to come together.STEP 3 - ASSESSMENT & INTRODUCTION All potential candidates are interviewed by a partner, evaluating their professional qualifications and their personal "chemistry". Written summaries are then prepared for all those who meet our client's requirements. Client interviews with candidates are then arranged.STEP 4 - REFERENCING & VERIFICATION We examine and personally verify the educational credentials of each candidate. At the appropriate juncture, we conduct thorough reference checks of the candidate's career history, character and perceived potential by contacting colleagues, employees, superiors and other informed sourcesSTEP 5 - SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION When a candidate is selected, we assist the client and candidate in negotiations. We advise our client on an appropriate compensation package before an offer is extended. To assure a smooth transition, we continue to maintain contact with our client and successful candidate after the search is completed.TARGET CITY TRIPS Location specific recruitment, with emphasis on cost-effectiveness. Multiple candidates (usually 8-12) presented at recruitment “center” in city where they reside.EXECUTIVE SEARCH TSS has performed full and partial retainer work across many disciplines and levels of responsibility from middle management to the office of the chief executive. Many of the same techniques as contingency (non-retained) recruitment are employed, but the degree of intensity and commitment attributed to a full search is immeasurably higher. We don’t do retained searches exclusively, but our results are comparable to purported “pure search” groups.CONSULTING Peripheral support in the areas of salary surveys, product comparisons, outplacement, on-site staffing, industry trends.
